I know what you might be thinking. We already have Ramsdale, but the value represented by a deal to sign Raya is undeniable and is a big part of why we cannot pass on the opportunity.
With our buy option for the 28-year-old reportedly totalling just £27m, which is a staggering £20m less than the fee that Man United paid for Andre Onana last summer.
It feels like a deal whereby losing money in the medium/long term is near impossible, and for that reason alone it is a deal that needs to happen.
