2. He has experience in English football

Before signing for Sporting CP, Gyökeres was at Championship club Coventry City and was key in the club's surprise push for Premier League football, where they unfortunately missed out in the play-offs.

The striker finished last season as the second highest scorer in the league with 21 goals, behind ex-Arsenal graduate Chuba Akpom. However, he did finish joint top of the assists charts with 12, taking his total league goal involvements to 33. 

His ability to both score and provide goals is a trait that has stuck with him throughout his career and would complement the style of football Arsenal play under Mikel Arteta.

Gyökeres has undergone struggles in his career and failed to make an impact at Brighton and Swansea, but has been consistently performing at a high level for the past three seasons while improving his output each time.

Gyökeres is on a clear upward trajectory and is only just starting to reach the height of his potential.
