3 reasons why Arsenal NEED to win the Premier League this year

  • Arsenal are currently second, just two points off the leaders
  • A late collapse saw the Gunners fall just short in the 2022/23 campaign

How about “because I said so”?

Arsenal might not hold the cushion of this time last year, but they are right in the Premier League title mix again and simply have to go one step further.

Victory over Brighton at the weekend was followed up by a chaotic draw at Old Trafford between Liverpool and Manchester United, leaving Arsenal top of the tree with seven games to go.

3 reasons why Arsenal NEED to go one step further - and win the 2023/24 Premier League title

But no one said it would be easy, and the Gunners are definitely good value for their current league position - they *just* have to keep the pressure on.

As 19 May draws ever closer, here are three reasons why Arsenal NEED the trophy decked out in red and white this summer.

There is nothing better/worse than a party pooper.

Liverpool were hardly in bad form prior to Jurgen Klopp’s announcement; claiming 14 wins from 21, stationed top on 48 points and having just league defeat to their name. Yet the news still seemed to reenergise them and made Anfield even more intent on giving their legendary coach an emotional, title-winning send off.

However, his exit only adds to the need for an Arsenal triumph as Klopp and Pep Guardiola have long been the domestic standard bearers here, meaning it would be a particularly strong endorsement of Mikel Arteta’s rebuild if we were to now win the title and break the (one-sided) Klopp/Guardiola power struggle in the process.

Consecutive title drives suggest Arsenal are back competing with the very best teams, and beating the best managers (while they are still here) to earn our prize is a huge incentive ahead of the run-in.
