It has been reported that Benjamin Sesko is keen on a move to Arsenal and, as a result, the club are preparing a £45m bid.

The Gunners are rumoured to have several centre forward targets this summer including the likes of Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen but Sesko stands out as the ideal option.

There are three key reasons why Benjamin Sesko is the right striker option for Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.

1. Natural striker

Throughout his entire career, Benjamin Sesko has played as a centre forward and this is the kind of attacker Arsenal need.

Sesko is a natural goalscorer, having netted 76 goals in 170 senior appearances at club level so far in his short career. He scored 18 goals in 42 appearances in his debut season for RB Leipzig. 14 of these came in 31 Bundesliga games, averaging 0.82 per 90 minutes.

The last thing the Gunners would want in their pursuit of a striker is to bring in a similar forward to Gabriel Jesus whose weak point is goalscoring. With Sesko, they would not have that problem.

The Slovenian is also good in the air, having scored five headed league goals last season. This is just one less than than Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Leandro Trossard managed combined in the Premier League. A striker who can not only score goals but is also dominant in the air would provide the team with the 'target man' they have so desperately needed at times.

Signing Benjamin Sesko would finally give Mikel Arteta a genuine number nine option to call on when his team are struggling to find the back of the net.
