2. His consistency in keeping clean sheets
Arsenal are not a team that have been known for keeping clean sheets recently. Besides Aaron Ramsdale’s 14 last season, the club have not come close to challenging for the most clean sheets in the league since Petr Cech won the Golden Glove in the 2015/16 season.
That is until now. Raya has kept nine clean sheets so far in the league this season as well as a further four in the Champions League. He has only conceded 19 goals in the Premier League this season from 22 games.
While Raya has the benefit of one of the best defences in Europe sitting in front of him, it does not take away from the fact that when he has been called upon, he has been up to the task. The Spaniard currently sits top of the Golden Glove rankings and boasts a save percentage of 63.5%.
