Arsenal got their season off to the best start possible with a 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday afternoon. There were a number of positive displays on show, much to Mikel Arteta's elation.

Kai Havertz headed in Bukayo Saka's cross on the 25 minute mark to open the scoring for his side. Saka then got on the scoresheet in the second half when he struck a left-footed effort past Jose Sa to seal the win.

Despite their being a number of brilliant performers across the pitch, there were three particular standouts in Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Wolves.

1. Bukayo Saka

It was a case of a new season but the same Bukayo Saka in the opener against Wolves. He was immediately troubling Rayan Ait-Nouri on the left side of Wolves' defence and played a pinpoint cross for Kai Havertz to head Arsenal into the lead.

He then scored a nice left-footed effort in the second half to wrap up the win before being withdrawn from the action with ten minutes remaining. Throughout his time on the pitch, Saka played 18 out of 20 successful passes and created five chances.

Saka also played a part defensively, winning two out of two tackles and completing five defensive actions during the match. He was one of the best performers on the pitch and showed that he is more than ready for the new season.

2. Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz opened the scoring with a first half header, doing well to get in front of Jose Sa to beat him to the ball. He then assisted Saka's match sealing goal in the second half.

With his opener, Havertz outperformed his xG of 0.45. He also had an influence in other areas of the pitch, playing 14 out of 18 accurate passes and creating two chances. A constant issue for Wolves, he had ten touches in the opposition box and drew three fouls throughout the match.

Havertz also had an impact in defence, completing six defensive actions across the 90 minutes. The Germany international proved on Saturday that he is ready to lead the line for Arsenal throughout the new campaign.

3. David Raya

Returning to the Premier League as a European Championship winner, David Raya picked up where he left off by keeping a clean sheet in the first game of the season.

He made three saves on his way to preserving his clean sheet, including a brilliant point-blank stop to deny Jorgen Stand Larsen a debut goal for Wolves. Raya also made one high claim and eight recoveries.

Raya played 23 out of 32 accurate passes throughout the 90 minutes and will be happy to have kept a clean sheet. He started the season well and looks ready to retain the Premier League Golden Glove award.
