3 standout players from Arsenal's 5-0 win over Burnley

  • Arsenal cruised to an easy 5-0 victory against a Burnley side that never stood a chance.
  • Martin Odegaard's dagger four minutes in and Bukayo Saka goal straight after half-time cut any wind there may have been in Burnley's sails at the start of both halves.

2. Martin Odegaard

There was a point a few months ago when Arsenal fans wanted the skipper dropped. Since then, he has hardly put in a bad performance.

I thought he was so fluid today and was clearly playing with confidence, dribbling, and flying into duels with more gusto than usual.

His first goal was so sweet. Gabriel Martinelli cut the ball back to him, and the Norwegian sent a volley right into the bottom corner with considerable venom.

He was then on hand to slip Saka through for his second goal and just generally pulled the strings for the whole game.

He has been playing a bit more centrally in recent games, but today, he stuck more to the right, and it paid off beautifully.

When Arsenal is on fire, you can be sure that Martin Odegaard was the one with the matches in his hands.
