Arsenal made amends for their disappointing midweek Champions League defeat to Porto in emphatic style as they beat Newcastle 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Following the 1-0 defeat in Porto on Wednesday, some fans were nervous that, against a team that are known to slow games down and often opt for a resilient low block, we may have struggled.

It quickly became apparent, however, that these fears were misplaced as the start of the game clearly displayed that Newcastle were there for the taking, and an excellent performance from the Gunners quickly put any concerns to rest - with Mikel Arteta's side taking a 2-0 lead in the opening 25 minutes.

It was a great performance from the whole team, but a number of players stood out from the rest and, with that said, here are the three standout players from the game.

The 32-year-old was awarded man of the match on the night and staked his claim for being given more minutes in the busy months ahead, an idea that few fans could argue with based on his recent performances.
