Arsenal travel to Aston Villa in their first away game of the new Premier League season as they look to maintain their winning start to the campaign.

The Gunners won their season opener, securing a 2-0 home victory over Wolves courtesy of goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka. While league position does not particularly mean much after just one gameweek, Arsenal currently sit second behind Brighton.

Mikel Arteta's side will be eager to kickstart a winning run against Villa and there are three key talking points to discuss ahead of this showdown.

1. Revenge for last season

Aston Villa completed a league double over Arsenal last season, being the only team to do so. They were also just one of two teams the Gunners failed to beat in the league. Having won 1-0 at home in December, Villa came away from Emirates Stadium with a 2-0 win in April.

The 2-0 defeat at the Emirates was what ultimately cost Arsenal the league title as it was the only poor result in their near-perfect end to the campaign.

Arsenal will be eager to get revenge against the team that cost them their first league title in 20 years while Mikel Arteta will also be keen to get a positive result against his Gunners predecessor and Villa manager Unai Emery.
