Martin Odegaard is set to be absent through injury once again and that will come as a massive blow to Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard confirmed ahead of the match against Atalanta that his captain has suffered 'significant' damage to an ankle ligament and could be out of action for a while.

The Norwegian is a shining light in the Gunners' midfield and will be sorely missed upon the trip to the Etihad. While it is not always clear in his statistics, his creativity and what he provides to the team is always clear.

One injury positive for Arteta however is that Kevin De Bruyne may not be involved in the clash. Having been withdrawn at half time against Inter Milan, he will be assessed ahead of the matchup with Arsenal. Pep Guardiola is confident his star man will play but this will likely be from the bench if true. Regardless, both managers will have to make some tactical shakeups for this game.
