As I have already said, our squad depth remains a significant problem and, in my opinion, could seriously hamper our chances of silverware this season.

With that said, we can also recognise the overwhelming positive which is the quality of our starting squad.

We are now in a position, without doubt, where our starting 11 is among the best in the country, and Europe, and could quite conceivably compete among the best in the world.

From Gabriel and Saliba’s dominance in defence to Ben White and Bukayo Saka’s scintillating interplay down the right, our team is full of talent and this is something that should absolutely be celebrated.

This wealth of talent in the starting 11 is also, perhaps, further reason why we should be strengthening our squad depth in January as, failure to do so, would be a slap in the face to our current first team, who battle week in week out to fight for trophies for us all.
