3. Is Arsenal's squad depth the real deal?

Maybe Arteta deserves to have some slack cut, maybe our bench just is not as strong as we perhaps think it is.

Against Burnley, Sheffield United or Crystal Palace (with all due respect to those sides), it takes a much lower calibre of player to make a difference from the bench than it does away to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

In fact, as soon as Eddie Nketiah came on, and he cannot help this fact, nor do I blame him, I let out a sigh, realising that our options to change the game were minimal.

Could Smith Rowe or Zinchenko have impacted the game? Quite possibly - but there were several players on the bench who, realistically, are behind the necessary quality of this stage of the competition - serving as a reminder of our need for increased squad depth this summer.
