Mikel Arteta (winner)

Kimmich is everything that Mikel Arteta wishes for. He is a versatile player who can play as a full-back or a midfielder. He also frees up other players such as Declan Rice, so he would get the best out of them.

All in all, Kimmich gives Arteta MANY options and he would just add to the fluid starting eleven which Arteta is starting to build. Therefore, a win-win.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (loser)

A full-back who can also play in midfield? Yeah, that pretty much overrides the only standout feature which Oleksandr Zinchenko has - And I say that as a big fan of the Ukrainian.

Zinchenko has already fallen down the pecking order this season, with Jakub Kiwior the preferred left-back. With Kimmich in the squad, although he wouldn't directly compete for a place with Zinchenko, it does render Zinchenko's pull factor as less desirable. Sorry, someone has to say it.
