Mikel Arteta has had an overall great impact at Arsenal. In each season, the Spanish boss has shown significant improvement and the progress he's had behind the scenes is very clearly visible. He is a great man-manager, who the players get along with.

However, there are two sides to every story. While most players will recall positive experiences with Mikel Arteta, there are some Arsenal players who could say the opposite.

1. Nuno Tavares

Nuno Tavares was signed by Mikel Arteta in 2021 but in hindsight, he will probably look back at the Portuguese signing as one of his worst.

Since arriving in North London, Nuno Tavares has been sent out on two loan spells. Last season, he went to Marseille for a season and this campaign, he is with Nottingham Forest.

It is hard to imagine a future at Arsenal for the full-back. When he returns to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the 2023/24 season, he will have just one year remaining on his contract. Given that he is not in Mikel Arteta's future plans, a permanent sale could be on the cards this summer.
