4 Benjamin Sesko alternatives for Arsenal to target this summer
- There are other targets the Gunners could turn to due to Sesko's unavailability
Arsenal were described to be in 'pole position' to sign Benjamin Sesko should he have left RB Leipzig. However, the Gunners have been dealt a blow with the Slovenia international deciding to sign a new deal with the German side.
Having missed out on Sesko, it has been reported that Arsenal will not necessarily target a number nine this summer but there are other options out there.
Mikel Arteta will not likely have the funds available to move for a big name such as Victor Osimhen so he may have to settle for a cheaper option. Despite having to target cheaper alternatives, there are four quality strikers still available to Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window.
1. Alexander Isak
Arsenal have shown interest in Alexander Isak for a long time and they may finally formalise it this summer. When the chase for Sesko was still on, the club were rumoured to have ruled out a move for Isak but with the Slovenian now unavailable, this could have changed.
Newcastle do not have a clear asking price for Isak but it has been reported they would accept an offer in the region of £150m. The Gunners obviously do not have these funds but Eddie Howe's side could be forced to lower this price due to their potential Financial Fair Play difficulties.
If Newcastle do have to sell, Arsenal should jump at the chance to sign such a talented player for a good fee. There are clear reasons why he would be a good striker target for the Gunners so Alexander Isak would be a great alternative.
