4 players Arsenal must sell this summer
- The Gunners need to sell these players in order to give themselves the perfect squad
4. Eddie Nketiah
For the majority of his Arsenal career, many fans have called for Eddie Nketiah to be given time to make his mark in the Premier League but with the striker turning 25 this year, it seems the patience has run out. Nketiah put pen to paper on a long-term contract in 2022 and was bestowed with the iconic number 14 shirt, but he has failed to live up to expectations.
Nketiah's main problem has been consistency. He can play like prime R9 in one game and then Gervinho in the next. Despite some decent runs of form over the past few seasons, he has never managed to eclipse five Premier League goals in a season and doesn't look to be changing that this year. His last goal came when he scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Sheffield United in October which took his tally for the season to five, but he has failed to replicate this form again this campaign.
With Gabriel Jesus' uncertainty in regard to injuries, Nketiah would be expected to come into the side as his replacement but has been displaced by Kai Havertz. Mikel Arteta has rarely relied on him since the turn of the new year so that surely spells that his time at Arsenal should be at an end.
Having had interest from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window, the Gunners should look to sell Nketiah in the summer to allow funds for a move for a top quality striker.
