2. Jakub Kiwior

Jakub Kiwior is in a tough predicament. He plays primarily in a position which is effectively covered by William Saliba and Gabriel. Of course, Mikel Arteta has successfully played Kiwior in a new position at left-back, however this position is also pretty stacked.

Particularly when you consider Jurrien Timber returning from injury for the 2024/25 season, Jakub Kiwior is pretty screwed when it comes to getting a position at full-back. Effectively, the Poland international is surplus to requirements since he is not quite at the level to be starting every match for a title-contending team.

The pull factor for Kiwior is that he is adequate enough to step in. However, relying on him during times of need and in big games could be risky. Therefore, his best shot at game-time in the 2024/25 campaign is in cup games and coming from the bench. If he continues to impress, then Arteta can consider finding a route into the first team but with Timber returning, it is likely impossible.
