4. Fabio Vieira
Fabio Vieira certainly struggled for game-time in the 2023/24 season, as he was essentially forgotten about by not just Mikel Arteta but the Arsenal fans. In total, Vieira started just two Premier League games last season, playing a combined total of 292 minutes in the league.
This is simply not good enough for a player who is now 24 years old. He will hope for more in the upcoming season but initially speaking, it doesn't look positive.
Fabio Vieira does have the advantage of having a free summer. While Portugal are taking place in EURO 2024, Vieira did not make the squad (probably because he hardly played domestically last season). Therefore, he could use the time to train alongside the likes of Martin Odegaard and Ben White, who also didn't travel for European competition.
Vieira's case is frustrating because there's clearly technical ability there to be unearthed. Mikel Arteta may just value the physical aspects of other players in Vieira's position. Unfortunately, he seems like Mesut Ozil mark two.
