5. Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah didn't start a single game in 2024, as Kai Havertz was clearly the preferred option at striker. Given Arsenal's flurry of goals in the calendar year, Nketiah could not contribute because he wasn't given the time to do so.

In fact, the most amount of minutes Nketiah played in one match during the 2024 spell was 23 minutes (on two occasions against West Ham and Luton). He was only granted these 23 minutes in both matches due to Arsenal being in cruise control of the game.

Unfortunately for Nketiah, I can only see this being a continuing trend. While Mikel Arteta clearly values him as a squad player, Nketiah must now be at the stage of his career where measly minutes towards the end of a match do not mean anything to him. He is 25 years old and should be in the prime of his career, after all.
