2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£55.1m)

Post Van-Persie, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the best striker Arsenal have seen. He was signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2018 and he spent four seasons for the Gunners, even becoming the captain under Unai Emery after *that* Granit Xhaka incident.

The Gabon international was a success in North London as he became the poster boy for the club and his goals proved to be decisive as he lifted the FA Cup in 2020.

It still remains unclear what happened but essentially, Mikel Arteta stripped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of the captaincy. It came after several disciplinary issues but Arteta himself described the decision to strip Auba's captaincy as "tough." Later, he joined Barcelona (like every single Arsenal captain) and then Chelsea. Hilariously, his time at Chelsea went sour and he was sold after a season.

All in all, Aubameyang was a great signing for Arsenal. It's just a shame how things turned out.
