4. Alex Grimaldo

One player who has seriously got his career back on track this season is Alex Grimaldo. I'm sure that the story of Bayer Leverkusen needs no introducing to Arsenal fans given Granit Xhaka's involvement in it but for those who don't know, Leverkusen have won the Bundesliga with games to spare. If that isn't impressive, they've done it unbeaten (so far).

Grimaldo was signed in the summer as a free agent and I think it's fair to say that Leverkusen fans did not expect much of him but Xabi Alonso has worked wonders with the full-back. This season, he has appeared in every single Bundesliga game, being a (used) substitute in only of the 29 games.

Grimaldo has played in the defensive midfield role for most of this season, forming a great relationship on the pitch with former Arsenal star Granit Xhaka. However, Grimaldo has the ability to play left-back and he would improve the attacking side of the left-back role at Arsenal. A win-win situation and an option worth exploring.
