With the transfer window now open, Arsenal will be starting to seriously consider the market opportunities in front of them with hopes of strengthening their squad ahead of next season.

During his time as manager, Arteta has signed 26 players for the club and while most have had a positive impact on the club, others have not.

The Spaniard has greenlit some abysmal signings since becoming Gunners boss and there are five players that stand out as the worst.

Willian joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Chelsea in Mikel Arteta's first summer transfer window as manager. He put pen to paper on a three year deal, earning a reported £240,000 per week.

The initial reaction to his signing was mixed with some viewing the Brazilian as a good addition to the squad whereas others felt it reinforced the idea Arsenal had become Chelsea's 'retirement home'.

Willian enjoyed a brilliant debut in a 3-0 season-opening win at Fulham, providing two assists. However, it all went downhill from there. The former Brazil international consistently featured in the starting XI throughout the first half of the season but put in poor performances.

He scored his first and only Gunners goal from a free kick in a 3-1 win over West Brom toward the end of the season. In the 2021 summer window, he agreed to an early termination of his contract and moved to Corinthians. He finished his Arsenal career with an underwhelming one goal and seven assists in 37 appearances.
