2. Folarin Balogun (€30m profit)

Folarin Balogun is another great example of a Hale End graduate. However, unlike Alex Iwobi, the Unites States international Folarin Balogun was not given much of a chance to shine at Arsenal, so he has instead made a name for himself elsewhere.

Balogun signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in 2020 and spent three years in the first team squad, only making two Premier League appearances and going without a goal. He was sent out on two loan spells to Middlesbrough and Reims but it was with the second club, Reims, where he truly made a name for himself.

During his season on loan in Ligue 1, the Arsenal loanee scored an impressive 21 goals. This resulted in interest from the French league, understandably. It was Monaco who prevailed in signing Folarin Balogun from Arsenal in 2023, paying a €30m transfer fee to Arsenal which can be considered profit since he was an academy graduate.
