3. Fabio Vieira
Last season, the Portugal international Fabio Vieira was on the verge of first-team football. However, this season, he has been pretty absent. Injuries have not helped his case but even when he has been fit and available, he oftentimes has rotted away on the bench.
The arrival of Declan Rice has not helped Vieira's case in the midfield but he seems more surplus to requirements as the weeks go by. As per WhoScored, Vieira has only started two Premier League matches this season, scoring once and assisting twice. Across all competitions, he has played just 493 first-team minutes all season.
As mentioned, injuries haven't helped him but the downfall of Vieira has not been nice to witness. In fact, there have been times that Arsenal fans have forgot he even plays for them until the camera pans to him on the bench. Hopefully 2024/25 has more in store for Vieira but given Arsenal's hunt for a new midfielder, it doesn't look promising.
