5. Aaron Ramsdale
Perhaps the most contentious debate of this season from Arsenal's perspective is whether or not Aaron Ramsdale should have been dropped to the bench. At the time, 99% of fans would have told you no since he'd done absolutely nothing to deserve being dropped and if anything, he did everything to keep his place in the starting lineup.
However, Mikel Arteta entrusted David Raya and it seems like the Spaniard is the long-term option between the sticks. In fairness, the Brentford loanee (imminently made permanent) has performed well and he is a safe option but you can't help feeling bad for Ramsdale.
Ramsdale helped the club during a time of need and he was a key member of the revitalisation of the squad under Mikel Arteta. So, he does not make this list through his own errors but he makes this list regardless, as an example of an Arsenal player who underachieved in 2023/24.
