7. Reiss Nelson
Reiss Nelson is an unfortunate case of an Arsenal player who has underperformed, after a promising display last season which earned him a contract extension. Despite playing more minutes in the Premier League this season (257) compared to last season (204), he has failed to score a single goal this season. Last season, he scored three goals including THAT strike against Bournemouth.
Like Smith Rowe, Nelson is a sad example of an Arsenal player who has fallen through the cracks. Although there have been examples of promising performances from the bench, he is rarely given an actual opportunity to make a statement, like he did last season.
Hopefully, 2024/25 has more in stock for Reiss Nelson but with the way things are going, it wouldn't surprise me if the Englishman was sold. He will feel hard-done-by if he were ejected from this Arsenal team but with more quality coming through the Arsenal squad, Nelson has sadly fallen surplus to requirements in this team.
