Aaron Ramsdale started potentially his last-ever game for Arsenal in the 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday in place of the ineligible David Raya. A mistake that led to the Bees' equaliser has surely sealed his fate regarding his time at Arsenal.

The England international joined the Gunners from Sheffield United in 2021 and after taking the number one spot from Bernd Leno, many assumed that he would be the starting goalkeeper for years to come.

However, following the introduction of David Raya last summer, Ramsdale's position has been snatched from underneath him and his time at Arsenal looks to be coming to an end.

A 1-0 win at Burnley in September 2021 marked Aaron Ramsdale's second Premier League appearance for Arsenal. Ramsdale did get lucky though as he conceded a penalty for a foul on Matej Vydra, but VAR deemed it to have been a good tackle instead and overruled the decision.

This match was important for Ramsdale as it was the game that began to solidify his status as Arsenal's number one. He had kept a clean sheet in the previous match against Norwich City but another against Burnley ensured that he would continue to start between the sticks for Mikel Arteta's side.
