2. Calafiori should fit right in

Riccardo Calafiori came on in place of Oleksandr Zinchenko at left back midway through the second half and instantly impressed. While playing on the left flank, he made a marauding run with the ball up field and was unlucky to not break through the Lyon defence.

Following the introduction of Myles Lewis-Skelly to the fold, Calafiori was shifted to left centre back but that did not alter his performance. Throughout his debut, the Italy international played seven out of eight accurate passes and made two interceptions and two clearances.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has impressed at left back toward the end of pre-season but it seems a matter of time before Calafiori displaces him in the Gunners defence.
