Arsenal put in a strong performance in their final pre-season friendly as they defeated Ligue 1 side Lyon in the Emirates Cup on Sunday afternoon.

Just as was the case against Bayer Leverkusen, the Gunners started the game strongly with William Saliba heading them into the lead from a corner before the ten minute mark.

Mikel Arteta's side doubled their advantage soon after with yet another set-piece goal. Declan Rice found Gabriel Magalhaes with a well placed corner and the Brazilian headed into an empty net.

The Gunners took their foot off the pedal slightly in the second half, still dominating play but not creating too many chances. Lyon had some spells of possession but did not cause David Raya and his defence any genuine trouble.

It was not the most convincing display from Arsenal but the victory is what is important as the Gunners begin to prepare for their season opener against Wolves next weekend.

Here are the Arsenal player ratings from Sunday's pre-season victory.

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David Raya (GK) - 6.5/10 - Was not troubled too much by Lyon's attack and had to make just two saves throughout the whole game. Will be happy to keep a clean sheet after failing to do so against Leverkusen.

Ben White (RB) - 6.5/10 - Another quiet game for White despite being present at times in attack. His decision making when having the ball in good positions was questionable at times. One of two outfield players to play the full 90 minutes.

William Saliba (CB) - 7.5/10 - Put in a good defensive shift and helped his side keep a clean sheet. Opened the scoring with a good header from a Declan Rice. Withdrawn toward the end of the second half.

Gabriel Magalhaes - 7.5/10 - Like his defensive partner, he put in a good shift at the back and was a key reason why his side kept a clean sheet. Doubled his side's advantage with a header into an empty net after meeting Declan Rice's corner. Taken off toward the end of the match.

Oleksandr Zinchenko - 6.5/10 - Another decent performance from Zinchenko which makes it seem his switch to #17 really has brought about a change in form. Got forward plenty and did his job well. Replaced by Riccardo Calafiori midway through the second half.
