Bukayo Saka (RW) - 7/10 - Constantly troubled Abner Vinícius on the left side of Lyon's defence and looked ready for the new season. Won a few fouls in good areas before being replaced toward the end of the game.

Gabriel Martinelli (LW) - 6.5/10 - Caused the Lyon defence problems with his pace and dribbling ability but seemed to lack a killer final product at times. Will be looking to improve on this for next week's season opener. Withdrawn with just over ten minutes to go.

Kai Havertz (ST) - 6.5/10 - Had a quieter game than usual today and moved into midfield following Declan Rice's withdrawal. Played a brilliant through ball to put Martinelli through on goal in the first half. Taken off toward the end of the second half.

Substitutes

Riccardo Calafiori

Riccardo Calafiori - 6.5/10 - Initially came on at left back before switching to the centre of defence. Made a good run forward with the ball and looked very positive on his debut.

Gabriel Jesus - 6/10 - Tried to get involved in attack but struggled to stay onside. Not a bad performance from the Brazilian.

Ethan Nwaneri - 6.5/10 - Decent cameo from the youngster and looks ready to play more first team football this season.

Jorginho - 5.5/10 - Not a great appearance as he almost let Lyon score when he completely missed the ball while defending a counter attack. The Italian has had better days.

Jakub Kiwior - 6/10 - Did well at the back and helped his side to a clean sheet.

Myles Lewis-Skelly - 6/10 - A bright cameo and made a few good intercepetions.

Reiss Nelson - 6/10 - A very quiet appearance from Nelson as he made little impact.

Leandro Trossard - 5.5/10 - Gave the ball away a few times and had a strangely quiet game.
