Arsenal has jumped to the summit of the Premier League table after a 2-1 win over Brentford that saw Kai Havertz continue his superb run of form.

Well, it wasn't pretty, but Arsenal got the job done against Brentford.

After Declan Rice had opened the scoring, the Gunners were held at arms length by Brentford in the first half as it seemed Arsenal would go in at half time with a 1-0 lead.

However Aaron Ramsdale's absolute howler on the stroke of half time allowed the visitors to equalize after he was caught on the ball by Yoane Wissa.

The second half resembled last season for Arsenal as it was hectic as Brentford did a good job of frustrating the Gunners while also forcing some incredible saves from Ramsdale. But as time was winding down, Ben White's cross in the 86th minute found Kai Havertz and the German headed home what would be the winner.

Arsenal claimed a vital three points to move to the top of the league table with Liverpool and Manchester City set to battle each other in their fixture.

The game provided plenty of talking points; here they are.

Aaron Ramsdale's last Arsenal appearance a classic tale of two halves

What this game showed was why David Raya is Arsenal's No. 1. Ramsdale getting caught on the ball likely wouldn't have happened to Raya and it was lucky that Havertz spared Aaron's blushes.

But credit to him though, in the second half he produced two spectacular saves to keep the scores level and if this is his last appearance in an Arsenal shirt, at least the fans got their monies worth.
