Gabriel Martinelli (RW) - 6/10 - Almost scored a delightful opener early on, but was denied by Jordan Pickford. Martinelli rarely operates down the right, and it showed on Sunday. There were spurts of brightness, but little else.

Kai Havertz (ST) - 7/10 - A tough outing against a pair of brutish Everton centre-halves. Havertz toiled and eventually got his reward late on.

Leandro Trossard (LW) - 5/10 - There was no final day hurrah for Trossard, who had one of his worst games of an otherwise excellent run-in. Taken off with 15 to go.

Substitutes

  • Oleksandr Zinchenko - 5/10
  • Jurrien Timber - 6/10
  • Emile Smith Rowe - 6.5/10
  • Gabriel Jesus - 6/10

Player of the match: Takehiro Tomiyasu
