Arsenal signed Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan from Chelsea in the dying hours of transfer deadline day and look to have picked him up on a good deal.

The England international will certainly help out in attack during his time with the Gunners even if the move has raised some eyebrows. The club was widely expected to sign a big-name attacker this summer but left it late and brought in Sterling instead.

Some may be disappointed with the signing due to his recent form but there are four reasons why Raheem Sterling is a great signing for Arsenal.

1. Premier League experience

Since making his Premier League debut for Liverpool in the 2011-12 season, Sterling has gone on to earn plenty of experience in the division.

He has scored 123 goals and provided 62 assists in 379 appearances in England's top flight. Sterling's best Premier League years came during his time with Manchester City, where he won four league titles.

Sterling clearly has a winning mentality and he could help instil this in the minds of his new teammates. Arsenal first became title contenders largely due to the introduction of fellow ex-City players Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko. However, these two have been unreliable due to frequent injuries so have been unable to help the team fully and consistently.

The signing of a reliable and experienced title winner in the form of Raheem Sterling is what Mikel Arteta has needed at the club and this could be what helps Arsenal finally beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.
