Loan fees have been a common part of temporary moves over the past years and many would have believed this would continue with Sterling's loan move to Arsenal. However, this was not the case.

The Gunners paid no loan fee for the winger, so they have saved what could have been a hefty amount as a result. The club are also said to be contributing to less than 50% of Sterling's wages. He is reported to be earning between a staggering £300k and £350k a week.

Signing such a great player in Raheem Sterling for essentially nothing and paying hardly any of his wages is simply sensational business by Arsenal and should be applauded. Spending a little amount also means the Gunners can save funds for a big money move or two next summer.
