Arsenal piled the pressure on their title rivals after thrashing London rivals Chelsea 5-0 at the Emirates on Tuesday night.

Leandro Trossard got the Gunners off to the perfect start as the Belgian finished off a slick move ignited by a first-time Thomas Partey pass and driving Declan Rice run.

Arsenal then seemed intent on putting the contest beyond their London rivals and they had early joy with their press, creating a couple of gilt-edge chances that weren't taken.

While they could've been a few behind, Chelsea didn't succumb and they started to offer a threat going the other way. They had success in transition with Nicolas Jackson - perhaps fortunate to still be on the pitch - running the channels superbly, and they, too, came close on a couple of occasions during a back-and-forth first half.

The Blues were well in the game at the break, and Arsenal certainly risked a nervy finale having failed to kill the game early. However, Mikel Arteta's side turned it on after the restart, reaching top gear. Ben White and Kai Havertz notched braces before the 70th minute as Arsenal rapidly rather swiftly turned a slender advantage into a huge one.

5-0 up and cruising, Arteta had the luxury of rotating his side ahead of Sunday's North London Derby while Mauricio Pochettino sought to limit the damage. Arsenal came close to improving their goal difference in the closing stages, but there was no late addition to the five they'd put past Poch's Blues.

Three points clear, for now. Over to you; Klopp, Pep.

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David Raya (GK) - 7/10 - There wasn't much by way of shot-stopping, although Chelsea did have their moments. Raya was calm with the ball and faultless when claiming crosses.

Ben White (RB) - 8.5/10 - Relished Mykhaylo Mudryk's defensive incompetence in the first half as he consistently overlapped Bukayo Saka. His second goal came as a result of a final third burst, even if there was some fortune about the finish.

William Saliba (CB) - 6.5/10 - A rather sloppy first half with a couple of possession errors. Also met his match in Jackson when he burst down the line. Had little to do after half-time.

Gabriel (CB) - 7/10 - Coped with Jackson well when he attempted to hold the ball up and delivered a couple of fine passes into midfield and beyond. He's had cleaner performances in and around his box.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (LB) - 6.5/10 - May have been hindered by Jackson's - I can't stop talking about him! - early challenge as he was beaten on a couple of occasions by Noni Madueke on the outside. Eventually settled and looked comfortable in possession throughout.
