Jurrien Timber started at left back against Villa and will likely continue this role on Saturday. The Dutch international had an overall underwhelming game but performed relatively well statistically. He played 32 accurate passes out of an attempted 38, won one tackle and three duels.

Despite this mixed performance, he is likely to start at left back once again against Brighton. Yankuba Minteh is likely to cause problems on the right wing for the Seagulls so Timber seems the suitable choice, given his defensive abilities.

Of course, Riccardo Calafiori, who made his competitive Arsenal debut against Villa, could start at left back. While the Italian is likely to earn a start soon, Timber should be the option to face Brighton.
