Newcastle was reported to be among a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Tierney last year.

The Magpies instead signed Lewis Hall on loan from Chelsea, a move that has since been made permanent. Eddie Howe's side could still be after a left-back this summer, given Hall's young age and the possibility he is not yet ready for constant first-team football.

A move to Newcastle would prove good for both Tierney and Howe's side, with the chance for a top left-back to help them chase a return to Europe next season.
