Arsenal saw its US tour end with a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, with Mikel Arteta's side now returning home for more friendlies before the season begins.

Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in Philadelphia to end their US tour, just days after the Gunners beat Manchester United by the same scoreline.

Riccardo Calafiori got his first chance at watching his new team live, but it was an old nemesis in Mo Salah who opened the scoring for the Reds just 13 minutes in after he ran half the field to slot home.

Just 20 minutes later, Liverpool doubled their lead with Fabio Carvalho, who got on the end of a wonderful dinking pass from Harvey Elliott. But the Gunners got one back just six minutes later through Kai Havertz after the German tapped hom from close range.

That would be the end of the scoring as the Gunners now return home ahead of the new season.

Is Zinchenko worthy of starting?

Just 12 months ago, this would have gotten you laughed at, but now, while yes it is only preseason, Zinchenko, for all the good he does in possession, defensively, he's nightmare fuel.

With Mo Salah running at him, you always got a sinking feeling and it remains to be seen if Mikel Arteta thinks what Zinchenko does with possession is good enough to tolerate his defensive liability.
