Arsenal has a chance to advance to the Champions League semi-finals against Bayern Munich and the gravity of what Mikel Arteta's side can do isn't lost on the Gunners boss.

Arsenal has to shake off the disappointment of its 2-0 loss to Aston Villa at the weekend...there are bigger fish to fry.

The Gunners are in Bavaria ready to take on Bayern Munich with a place in the Champions League semi-finals at stake. With the hosts having several injury issues as Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies are all out, the Gunners have a superb chance at progressing.

But what would a win mean for Arsenal's mentality as it heads toward the pointy end of the season?

"Absolutely [it will make a statement], it will be unbelievable," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "If we make it happen tomorrow, we are in the semi-final, and we will be in a really highly emotional state - it's something that we haven't achieved as a club for the last 15-17 years and that's the opportunity."

Bayern returned to the winners circle domestically with a 2-0 win over FC Koln thanks to second-half goals from Raphaël Guerreiro and Thomas Muller. While the Gunners relinquished top spot in the Premier League after losing to Villa.

So the teams come into this one in different form, but with Bayern's injury troubles, the Gunners should feel confident in their ability to get a positive result.

With so much doom and gloom around the club after the Villa defeat, the perfect pick-me-up comes in, slaying Bayern in their own stadium.

Arsenal has a chance to advance to the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in nearly two decades, and that kind of accomplishment is something that could give the Gunners a massive confidence boost as the season nears its end.
