Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is officially up and running for the 2024/25 season, and managers have until August 16th to settle on a 15-man squad. With some tweaks and changes, this new game has brought with it a breath of fresh air.

As you turn to the Arsenal squad for some help filling your FPL team. It's worth noting that a few things could be changing at the club. Some of those who were once considered starters may be reduced to lesser roles this season simply due to increased competition, new signings coming in, and potential system tweaks.

Below are three such players who are probably worth avoiding, at least for the season openers. Regardless, do keep an eye on these names, though. We haven't picked from the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Karl Hein for this list for obvious reasons, and some of the players below possess qualities that could still be useful to the team later down the line.

3. Oleksandr Zinchenko

Being the only out-and-out left-back in the squad last season, Zinchenko played 27 times in the league, starting 20 of those games. He might seem like a decent opportunity to buy into the Arsenal defence at an affordable price.

However, this is actually just an easy pass, purely because the competition for his role should increase quite significantly next season. Jakub Kiwior is still hanging around, and Jurrien Timber is officially back from injury. In particular, the Dutchman effectively plays a similar style to Zinchenko, but with additional defensive stability, meaning he could automatically replace the Ukrainian for his functionality.

Furthermore, Arsenal are close to signing Riccardo Calafiori too, who can play anywhere on the left side of the backline. Ultimately, this deal could result in either Kiwior or Zinchenko leaving the club to make space. Even if he were to stay for another season, the chances of Zinchenko playing enough minutes to warrant a value in FPL are low.
