Monaco will be one of the clubs Arsenal host at Emirates Stadium during the competition's league phase. The Gunners have met the French side twice, winning one and losing one.

The only set of encounters between the teams came in the 2014-15 Champions League round of 16. Arsenal won the second leg 2-0 but had fallen to a 3-1 defeat at home in the first leg. This meant Monaco progressed on away goals.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping his Arsenal side can improve their home record against Monaco when the two sides face off.

Arsenal have never played Girona, mostly due to the latter's lack of appearances in European competitions. The Spanish side were a surprise package in La Liga last season, finishing third behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Making their Champions League debut, Girona will be looking to make a name for themselves against the bigger clubs so the Gunners must be up for the challenge.
