Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Neto on loan from Bournemouth. The keeper will join the club on a season-long loan with no option or obligation to buy.

The Brazilian will join the Gunners as their second-choice goalkeeper, deputising for David Raya following the departure of Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton.

While some may be unsure of this deal, there are three reasons why Arsenal signing Neto is brilliant business.

Arsenal is likely to pay Bournemouth a loan fee for the signing of Neto, and while no reports confirm the amount, it is likely to be minimal.

This is much better in comparison to the Gunners' previous goalkeeper target, Joan Garcia. Espanyol demanded for Garcia's €30m release clause to be paid in the event of a deal and that would frankly be a ridiculous figure to spend on a backup keeper.

It makes sense for Arsenal to have targeted a goalkeeper of minimal cost, as the position isn't suited to having big amounts of money spent on it. There is always the possibility the Gunners could attempt to sign Joan Garcia next summer.
