2. Robin van Persie (20 goals)

Annoyingly for Arsenal fans, Robin van Persie seems to make every historic list. Like him or hate him, he certainly made his mark when he was the Arsenal striker.

In his 8-year career at the Emirates Stadium, Robin van Persie scored 20 goals in the Champions League, which is pretty good going. His most notable Champions League goal and one which will be remembered forever by the Gunners faithful came against Barcelona. He scored an incredible goal from a near-impossible angle, showing how he could make goals from nothing.

Even though Van Persie snaked the Gunners to sign for Manchester United, he might go down as one of the best players to NEVER win the Champions League, despite playing for four different clubs in his time. Now, the Dutchman is retired.
