Arsenal bagged an astonishing 113 goals in all competitions during the 2023/24 season, but 10 in particular stood out as hallmarks of the team's growing talent and style going forward.

When words like style and talent are used, it should be no surprise Martin Odegaard features heavily. Arsenal's captain fantastic matured into an imperious creative force this season. Like Cesc Fabregas with an edge.

Odegaard kept the Gunners in business in the final third, setting up and scoring some cracking goals. It helped he could supply finishers the quality of Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard.

All three make this list, but there's also room for some of Arsenal's lesser lights. Players like usurped striker Gabriel Jesus and too-little-used Eddie Nketiah still showcased their qualities in front of goal.

Let's start the ranking with a typically intricate team move.

10. Martin Odegaard vs Sheffield United (A)

Multi-pass forays forward are a personal favourite, and Odegaard's smartly constructed goal away at Sheffield United was like muscle memory from the peak days of Arsene Wenger.

This particular ode to Wengerball started way up on the left flank. Auxiliary full-back Jakub Kiwior passed back to Gabriel Magalhaes, and the central defender promptly rolled the ball square to Jorginho.

The relaxed pass-master prodded a first-time ball to Gabriel Martinelli on the edge of the box. Martinelli nudged the ball on the outside of his marker to meet an underlapping run from Declan Rice.

Mikel Arteta's ยฃ105-million man quickly pulled the ball back to the penalty spot. That's where Odegaard met it flush with a side-foot half volley. Sweet stuff.

Five passes in close quarters, capped by a precise, first-time finish. The opening salvo in a 6-0 blunting of the Blades represented everything Arsenal have been about since the Autumn of 1996.
