3. A comfortable victory against title rivals

Liverpool had begun to build a gap at the top of the Premier League table over the winter period. The Gunners had endured a rough time at Christmas but knew that a win against Liverpool in February would take them to within two points of the league leaders.

Arsenal were electric at the Emirates and put in one of their best performances of the season as Liverpool barely stood a chance. The visitors managed just one shot on target all game and their only goal came courtesy of a defensive blunder from the Gunners.

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard all got their names on the scoresheet as Arsenal blew Liverpool away with their speed and accuracy. The win felt even better when you considered the previous meeting between the two sides.

In the FA Cup a month earlier, Arsenal had started in a similarly impressive fashion but despite 18 shots and five big chances, failed to find the net and were knocked out of the competition.
