Arne Slot is the talk of the Premier League right now. He is due to become the Liverpool manager from next season, a role which was previously filled by Jurgen Klopp for nine years. However, Liverpool are not the only Premier League set to benefit from the work of Arne Slot, since Arsenal now want a piece of the pie, and they could get it in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal eye former Arne Slot goalkeeper to replace Aaron Ramsdale
According to The Mirror, Arsenal are in the race to sign Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow. Bijlow is thought to be the successor for Aaron Ramsdale, who has found himself on the bench this season, after Arsenal signed David Raya on loan. The loan deal for Raya will become permanent after this summer for around £30m, whereas Bijlow could be signed as a backup option for around £10m.
Bijlow has benefitted from working under the tutelage of Arne Slot. However, with two years on his Feyenoord contract remaining and falling down the pecking order due to injury concerns out of his own control, Bijlow could benefit from a move to the Premier League.
No Arsenal fan will like the feeling of losing Aaron Ramsdale, however, it is inevitable. The England international is second in the hierarchy at Arsenal which would usually be fine but between the sticks, he will never get a look-in. Ramsdale is far too good to be rotting away on the bench and given his pedigree as an upcoming England number one, he would like to secure minutes elsewhere.

So, what's important for Arsenal is that they plan accordingly. Thankfully for Arteta, a golden opportunity has presented itself, with Justin Bijlow available for just £10m.
Arsenal have made a habit out of dabbling in the Dutch market in recent seasons. They signed Jurrien Timber from Ajax last summer and this summer they could be coming for Justin Hijlow. It is clearly a market which the Arsenal recruitment team is knowledgable in, given their interest in Jorrel Hato as well (Football London).
The question remains - If Hijlow is so good, why doesn't Arne Slot wish to bring him to Liverpool? Well, the answer is that it isn't as simple as Slot bringing the Feyenoord team to his new English city. If anything, he may actively try to avoid buying Dutch players, as per Mirror, to avoid being pigeon-holed in this market.
Do you think Justin Hijlow would be a good signing for Arsenal?
