3. Not selling Aaron Ramsdale last year

At the other end of the pitch, there is talk about the likely sale of Aaron Ramsdale, a player who, in truth, should have been sold 12 months ago.
Perhaps that might have sparked outrage given his fantastic 2022/23 campaign, during which he made the Premier League Team of the Year and signed a deserved new contract that reflected his fan-favorite status.
But it is still no excuse not to sell, especially for a manager who then bought David Raya and is evidently not afraid to make big calls.
As a result, Ramsdale has spent a year on the bench, seen his confidence and valuation plummet, and may well leave this summer for a lower price than the club paid in 2021 (or certainly less than might have been earned when his stocks were high).
Furthermore, our apparent sales-first approach could mean that any incomings depend somewhat on his exit, so the decision (mistake) to not sell him a year ago is, therefore, still haunting us today.
All of these ‘mistakes’ suggest that the club needs an overhaul, and I am not talking about the goalkeeping department.
