Arsenal vs Brighton preview: Prediction, team news & lineups
- Brighton visit the Emirates on Sunday afternoon
- Seagulls downed the Gunners in north London last season
- Arsenal will climb above Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table with a win
Arsenal will, perhaps temporarily, move back to the top of the Premier League table with a victory over Brighton on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners were in midweek action as they rounded off their Champions League group stage. Eddie Nketiah scored his first goal in the competition as the north Londoners played out a forgettable 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven.
Mikel Arteta shuffled his pack following last weekend's harsh 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa which saw his side relinquish their place at the summit. Liverpool are now on top of the tree ahead of Arsenal's visit on 23 December.
Before that, though, Arsenal are preparing for Brighton's visit this weekend. Roberto De Zerbi has found it difficult juggling the Thursday/Sunday schedule so far this season, and this contest arrives off the back of their crucial Europa League bout against Marseille.
Brighton are eighth in the Premier League table heading into Sunday's game.

Arsenal team news
Arteta made wholesale changes to his starting XI in midweek, but there were minutes for Declan Rice, Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, and Ben White in Eindhoven. All should start on Sunday.
David Raya will also come back into the side in place of Aaron Ramsdale.
Emile Smith Rowe is off the injury list, but Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Jurrien Timber remain sidelined. Gabriel Martinelli should be fine to return.
Brighton team news
The Seagulls' Thursday night encounter will undoubtedly play a role in Sunday's team selection.
However, we do know that De Zerbi will be without a whole host of injured players for their visit to the Emirates. Ansu Fati, Julio Enciso, Pervis Estupinan, Tariq Lamptey, and Adam Webster will all miss out.
Danny Welbeck and Solly March could feature.

Arsenal vs Brighton score prediction
Brighton were sensational at the Emirates last season, but Arsenal will have the benefit of playing the Seagulls off the back of a Europa League game.
The Gunners are well rested, and that should stand them in good stead against a Brighton side whose success without the ball is dependant on intensity and aggression.
The visitors are more than capable of stunning the hosts given just how proficient they are in the build-up and when their wide players are isolated one-v-one, but I think Thursday's game with Marseille will catch up with them against an opponent desperate to return to winning ways.
I think Arsenal will emphatically on Sunday.
