Arsenal conclude their 2024 pre-season this weekend, as they host Lyon at the Emirates Stadium. Last time out, they thumped four goals past Bayer Leverkusen, setting themselves up nicely for some good attacking momentum ahead.
Since this is the final pre-season game, Mikel Arteta is expected to play a stronger team than he has throughout pre-season. After all, he is fortunate enough to welcome back some of his best players, so he would ideally like for them to be fully fit before the start of the Premier League season next week. This is why the pre-season fixture couldn't come at a better time.

Arsenal team news
Arsenal have now welcomed back all of their stars from international duty. However, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain injured, so they will not be involved in this match. Jurrien Timber has missed a chunk of pre-season but he could be due some minutes in this one, to build up his fitness before the season ahead but I wouldn't expect him to start.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Lyon: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Jorginho, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli
Lyon team news
Any Arsenal fans expecting a home-coming for former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette will be disappointed since he has been competing for France at the Olympics. That said, fellow ex-Gunner Ainsley Maitland-Niles is in line to start.
Predicted Lyon lineup vs Arsenal: Perri, Mata, Caleta-Car, Niakhate, Abner, Matic, Caqueret, Maitland-Niles, Benrahma, Mangala, Mikautadze
Arsenal vs Lyon score prediction
It's going to be a strong Arsenal lineup and one which is close to how they will lineup next season. It will prove too much for Lyon, particularly since they're away from home. I will go with Arsenal 3-0 Lyon but I'm not betting my life savings on it.
