CM: Declan Rice

Perhaps the biggest compliment you can pay to Declan Rice is that nobody mentions his price tag anymore. Signing from Arsenal in 2023 for £105m, some would even argue that at this price, he was a bargain.

In his first season for Arsenal, he has embodied the club culture well and became a real fan favourite. Going forward, he will be a big part of the post-Wenger future of the club.

CM: Granit Xhaka

The first player on this list who played under Arsene Wenger. However, it was the post-Wenger era in which Xhaka made a name for himself - Both for the better AND worse.

Xhaka became club captain under Unai Emery but didn't last long with the armband, after he swore at the Arsenal fans. Under Mikel Arteta, though, Xhaka left behind a great legacy at the club which resulted in a standing ovation after scoring a brace in his final game for the club.

Honourable mention goes to Mesut Ozil but unfortunately, his better days were left behind him post-Wenger.

CM: Martin Odegaard

Since originally signing from Real Madrid on loan, Odegaard has made over 100 appearances for Arsenal. Not only that, but he's also secured the captain's armband and he wears it well. A world-class technician and creative maestro, Gunners fans get glimpses of Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla when they watch the Norwegian in action.
